Account of crossing

This is Chris  Scott's account of our Sahara crossing as it appeared in the Overlanders Handbook and the Overland Journal magazine in the U.S.

I have also added a few of my photos. Click to enlarge.

The crossing

I was only able to catch these videos when the going was easy. Impossible while in high dunes or soft sand.

Where Chris's truck ground to a halt.

Dried up lake bed. When areas like this were inhabited people lived around the lakes. This makes them the best place for finding artifacts.

Broken Ostrich eggs. The eggs were broken into small pieces and used for personal adornment.
